Tomáš graduated from the Faculty of Law of Masaryk University in Brno in 1998 and holds an LL.M. Eur. in European law from the European Institute in Saarbrücken, Germany. He also earned a Ph.D. at the University of Economics in Prague in 2006.
He has been practising law since 2002.
Prior to joining JŠK, he worked for 15 years at the international law firms Linklaters (1999–2005) and Clifford Chance (2006–2014). In 2008, he worked for half a year in the private equity department of Clifford Chance in Frankfurt am Main.
He has been a partner at JŠK and the head of its corporate and private equity practice since 2014.
He focuses on advising on M&A, private equity, corporate and commercial law, family businesses, technology, media and telecommunications. He has participated in almost 200 implemented M&A projects, at the international, regional and local levels.
Since 2016, he has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Czech Private Equity and Venture Capital Association and the Chairman of its Tax and Legal Committee. In the same year, he also became a member of the CNB's Appeals Commission.
He has been a member of the Recodification Commission of the Ministry of Justice for the Commercial Corporations Act since its inception and actively participated in its preparation.
Tomáš was named Lawyer of the Year in the field of commercial law for 2014.
He co-commented on the Corporate Corporations Act (Wolters Kluwer) and the Civil Code (C.H. Beck). He also authored the book Concerts in Community Law (Auditorium 2008) and regularly lectures on corporate law, M&A.
