Roman graduated from the Faculty of Law of Charles University in 1997. In 1994–1995 he also studied French and European law at the Université de Provence in France and in 1993–1998 also at the Faculty of International Relations at the University of Economics in Prague.
He completed a post-graduate programme LL.M. from the University of Michigan School of Law in the United States in 1998–1999.
From 1995 to 2005, he worked at the law firm Linklaters in the positions of special assistant, trainee, lawyer and managing associate.
Since 2006 he has been a partner at JŠK.
Roman regularly represents providers and recipients of financing in negotiating credit and other financial transactions and developers in real estate transactions, including the development of new projects, structuring equity participations and debt financing for new projects, negotiating leases and sales of completed projects by transferring shares or the property itself. He has also prepared several large public contracts for project financing.
