Marta has spent almost her entire career at JŠK. After graduating from Masaryk University in Brno and working for two years in the Kooperativa insurance company, she started her traineeship in the then small law firm Johnson & Kramařík, where she was eventually promoted all the way to partner. Meanwhile her specialisation continued to develop. From general commercial law practice, she has always returned to contracts for work and the solution of practical issues arising from them. This resulted in a focus on litigation, but not only disputes or arbitration, but especially on finding ways to prevent them, to negotiate amicable solutions and prepare arguments that help the client achieve the best possible outcome.
Marta's specialisations and passions are mainly disputes over contracts for work, defective performance and damages in all areas of industry, from construction, automotive and other manufacturing, IT, metallurgy and energy to healthcare and the pharmaceutical industry. In her practice, she often deals with issues related to leases and their termination or compensation for damages arising from transport or forwarding contracts. She also has extensive experience in insurance, where she focuses especially on the settlement of liability claims or liability of managers, statutory bodies and senior employees, or interpretation of the scope of insurance, etc.
Together with the experienced litigation team that she leads at JŠK, she has represented Czech and foreign clients in major disputes over damages caused by a railway accident in Studénka in 2008, the Palladium shopping centre fire, which occurred immediately after its opening, and claims arising from defective performance in the construction of the Sazka Arena. She also helped negotiate settlements in construction disputes, in relation to a number of claims for damages caused by the statutory body, or harm in the field of health law, including clinical testing.
