You may be aware that a US court recently found Google had abused its dominant, near-monopolistic position by suppressing competition in the internet search sector. The case is rightly being called one of the largest US antitrust cases in the past 25 years.
Google was found to have engaged in this behaviour primarily by signing exclusive agreements with companies like Apple and other mobile device manufacturers, ensuring that Google was the default search application on their devices. As a result, the US competition regulator is now considering the option of breaking up Google.
