On Tuesday 27 February, the first ever Legal 500 GC Summit in the Czech Republic took place in Prague and our office was present.

We received great feedback to our M&A panel on Scoping Due Diligence. The panel was moderated by partner Tomáš Doležil and featured Pavel Kvíčala, legal partner at Genesis Capital Equity, Christian Blatchford, general counsel at ENERGO-PRO and our senior associate Klára Šmídová.

The conclusions of the panel discussion could be briefly summarized as follows:

- Be open and don't be afraid to ask questions, you will be more effective and better achieve the purpose of the due diligence;

-Anticipate, it is always worthwhile to investigate all even the less obvious issues relevant to the transaction itself and to the post-transaction period;

- Manage mutual expectations and define the desired outcome of the due diligence together promptly, as they vary from situation to situation.
