CORPO Refresh 2024

Seventy guests gathered on January 9 at Prague's Edison Filmhub for this year's CORPO Refresh 2024. This traditional business breakfast offered a look back at recent legal developments and market trends across various fields, as well as insights into what lies ahead this year.

For the sixth annual event, we prepared the following program:

Jan Koprnický discussed the amendment to the Act on Transformations of Commercial Companies and Cooperatives and the new corporate case law.

Hana Císlerová shed light on the crucial regulation of AI for developers and users, which will take effect in the EU starting February 2.

Continuing in the digital realm, Lukáš Tománek gave us a glimpse into the world of cryptocurrencies, highlighting the new MiCA regulation and its related licensing processes.

Vladěna Svobodová summarized last year’s activities of the Office for the Protection of Competition, outlined key changes in the upcoming amendment to the Competition Act, and shared what the Office will focus on this year.

Tackling the topic of prohibited agreements between employers, Lenka Dvořáková, our junior lawyer and the newest member of the team, made her successful debut at CORPO Refresh.

For the first time, the program included the topic of public procurement. Hana Nevřalová provided insights into well-known and lesser-known cases, legislative updates, and the anticipated reform of the Office for the Protection of Competition.

A classic topic that cannot be missed is the area of labour law, which Helena Hailichová has been focusing on at JŠK for a long time. Helena concluded this year’s CORPO Refresh with updates to the Labour Code, changes to agreements outside of employment, and interesting case law.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the attendees for their participation, the pleasant atmosphere, thought-provoking questions, valuable networking, and insightful feedback. We look forward to seeing you again next time!
